Printable mazes
Nine ready-made sets, from six-by-six mazes for preschoolers to one maze that fills a whole page. Tap Load this set, look over the pages, then print with your browser. Answer keys come with every set, and each maze is numbered so you can print the same one again.
The sets
First mazes
Six by six squares with two or three choices on the way, two big mazes per page so small hands can use a crayon.
Easy mazes
One long winding path with a handful of forks. Four to a page makes a quick warm-up sheet.
Medium mazes
Lots of short wrong turns. Good for the end of a lesson or a car trip on a clipboard.
Hard mazes
Long corridors that branch often, so there are many places to go wrong.
Expert mazes
One per page. The longest dead ends run for a couple of hundred squares.
Full-page challenge
Three page-filling mazes in 3 mm squares, each with its own answer page. These take a while to get through.
Round mazes
Start in the centre and find the one gap in the rim.
Shape sampler
A heart, a star, a round maze and a rectangle on each page.
Worksheet pack, easy to hard
Twelve mazes that get harder as you go, with a name and date line on each page. Answer keys at the back.
Easy mazes for young children
Our Easy mazes are 9 by 11 squares drawn with the recursive backtracker. Over mazes 1 to 20 the answer path has a median of 4 forks, so a child spends most of the time following one long path rather than choosing. That is what makes them easy: few decisions, and walls far enough apart for a crayon.
- Print two per page (or use Very easy) for children still learning to hold a crayon, and set Walls to Thick under More options for bold lines.
- Let them trace the path with a finger first, then draw.
- The Shape sampler set mixes hearts, stars and round mazes at the same easy level.
Hard mazes for older kids and adults
Hard mazes are 22 by 26 squares with a median of 31 forks on the answer path and 141 dead ends, the longest 60 squares deep. Expert mazes go to one per page, and the full-page challenge fills the sheet with thousands of 3 mm squares.
- Stuck? Try working back from the End. It gives you a second way into the same maze.
- Use a pencil. On the big mazes you will rub out a wrong turn or two.
- For a race, print the same maze number for each player.
Maze worksheets for class
The worksheet pack prints twelve mazes that climb from Easy through Medium to Hard, two to a page, with a name and date line at the top of each puzzle page. The answer pages come last so you can pull them off before handing the stack out. Every maze shows its number, so a student who says "number 907 is impossible" can be checked against the key in seconds.
To stop copying, set a different starting number for each table in the maze maker below. Any worksheet, level or shape can get the name line: tick Worksheet under the print settings.
Load a set, then print
A loaded set fills the page preview at the bottom. You can still change paper size, mazes per page, the title and the answer key before printing.

Questions about printing mazes
Are these printable mazes free?
Yes. Load a set, check the preview and print it from your browser. No account, no email and no PDF to download.
Do the sets come with answer keys?
Yes. Answer key pages print after the puzzles, in the same layout, with the way through drawn in red and each maze number in the caption. Untick "Answer key pages" to leave them out.
Can I print the same set again next week?
Yes. Every set starts at a fixed maze number (the Easy set is mazes 201 to 212), and a maze number always makes the same maze. Load the set again and you get the same pages.
Which level should I print for my child?
Start one level below where you think they are. Very easy suits children who are still learning to hold a crayon; Easy suits most five to seven year olds. If they finish in under a minute, move up a level.
