Christmas mazes
Tree, star and ornament mazes to print, plus a 24-day advent calendar that gets a little harder each morning. Every maze has a number and an answer key, so a lost page is easy to print again and an argument about whether one is possible is settled in seconds.
Ready-made Christmas sets
Advent maze calendar
Twenty-four mazes, one a day from December 1, one per page so you can write the date on each. They start very easy and finish hard, cycling through a tree, a star, an ornament and a wreath.
Christmas tree mazes
Enter at the tip of the tree and find the way down to the trunk.
Star mazes
Each point of the star is a pocket that may hide a dead end.
Ornament mazes
A round bauble with its cap on top. Hard enough for older kids at the dinner table.
Kids table placemats
One big tree maze per page with a line for a name, so each page doubles as a place card.
Full-page tree
A tree that fills the page in 3 mm squares. Something quiet for the adults after dinner.
The advent maze calendar
Twenty-four pages, one for each day from December 1 to Christmas Eve. Days 1 to 6 are very easy, 7 to 12 easy, 13 to 18 medium and 19 to 24 hard, and the shape rotates through a tree, a star, an ornament and a round wreath. Print the stack once, staple the answer pages separately, and leave the next maze out each night.
- For two children of different ages, print the set twice and hand the younger one pages from the start of the stack.
- Keep the pages in order: each one shows its maze number, 1201 for December 1 up to 1224.
- Lost a page? Type its number into the maze maker below with the same level and shape and it comes back exactly.
Make your own Christmas maze
Pick a shape and level and solve it here, or print it with or without the answers. A full-page tree at the top level is a long, quiet puzzle for the evening after the presents.

Ways to use them over the holidays
- Kids table: a placemat maze keeps small guests busy between courses. Print on card stock if you have it.
- Gift tag puzzle: print four tree mazes to a page, cut one out and tape it to a present. The recipient solves it before opening.
- Car trips: a clipboard, a pencil and the star set covers the drive to the relatives.
- Phones and tablets: every maze can be solved on screen with a finger, with a timer for a family record.
Our Christmas games page has party and family games, printable bingo and a left-right gift story. Running a gift swap? See the White Elephant rules. Mazes for the rest of the year are on printable mazes, and October has Halloween mazes. The maze generator page explains how each level is measured.
Christmas maze questions
How does the advent maze calendar work?
Load the set and print it: 24 pages, one maze each, numbered 1201 to 1224. Day 1 is the first page. The first six are very easy and the last six are hard, so the puzzles grow with the month. The answer keys print at the back.
Can I print one Christmas maze per child with their name?
Yes. Load the Kids table placemats set, or tick Worksheet in the print settings for any maze. Each puzzle page gets a name and date line.
Do the mazes print well in black and white?
Yes. The walls are black lines on white paper and print as sharp vector lines. The colored Start and End labels and the red answer line come out as dark gray.
