Halloween mazes
The maze is the picture: the walls fill the outline of a pumpkin, a ghost or a witch hat, and the round mazes double as spider webs. Print a ready-made set below or make your own, from easy for preschoolers to a page-filling pumpkin for grown-ups. Answer keys come with every set.
Ready-made Halloween sets
Pumpkin patch
Eight easy pumpkins, four to a sheet. Cut them apart for treat bags or party favors.
Ghost mazes
The eyes are solid blocks, so the path has to go round them.
Witch hat mazes
A tall, narrow climb from the tip of the hat down to the brim.
Spider web mazes
Round mazes look like a web. Start at the spider in the middle and find the way out.
Party race pack
Six one-page mazes, easy to hard. Copy a page for every racer so everyone runs the same maze.
Full-page pumpkin
A pumpkin that fills the page in 3 mm squares for teens and adults.
A Halloween maze race
This works for a classroom party, a family night or kids waiting for trick-or-treat time, and it needs only paper and pencils.
- Load the Party race pack and print one copy of the first page for every player. Everyone gets the same maze number, so the race is fair.
- Pages go face down. On "Go", everyone flips and solves.
- The first to reach the End holds up their page. Check it against the answer key; a line through a wall means they keep going.
- Next round, next page. The pack gets harder each round, so younger players can sit out the last two and judge.
Mixed ages? Give little ones the same shape at Very easy and let them start when the older players are halfway. Pages from the maze maker below can be any level, so a family can race on three levels of the same pumpkin.
More ideas for the night are on our Halloween party games page, with a picker by age and group size, printable bingo cards and a charades deck.
Make your own Halloween maze
Choose the shape and level, then play it here or print it. The maze number at the top makes the same maze again, so you can post the number in a class newsletter and every family prints an identical copy.

Tips for the shapes
- Pumpkin: the stem is part of the maze, and the entrance is at the top of the stem.
- Ghost: the eyes become two solid blocks and the wavy hem gives the bottom row some dead-end pockets.
- Witch hat: the narrow tip means the first few squares are a single corridor; the choices start at the brim.
- Spider web: round mazes start in the centre. Draw a spider on the middle dot before handing it out.
How the levels are measured is on the maze generator page. Year-round sets by level are on printable mazes. For December there are Christmas mazes with an advent calendar set. Hosting grown-ups? Our Bunco party ideas include a Halloween theme.
Halloween maze questions
What Halloween shapes are there?
A pumpkin, a ghost and a witch hat, plus round mazes that look like a spider web. Each shape works at every level, from very easy to the full-page challenge.
Can I get the answers?
Yes. Every set prints its answer key pages after the puzzles, with the path in red and the maze number under each one.
Will it print in black and white?
Yes. Walls are black on white. Only the Start and End labels and the answer line are in color, and they still show up as dark gray on a black-and-white printer.
